This blog is about otome games. I plan to use this space to give as much useful information as I can about the games I play as well as my thoughts on them. I don’t do reviews as I prefer to give empirical information rather than critiquing and rating based on my bias and limited experience. I do plan to do walkthroughs for those who want them and I may or may not use a preexisting Japanese walkthrough depending on whether one exists or not.
I am not fluent in Japanese but I’m working on it. I am currently in my third year of studying it and I have been to Japan. I’ve been a gamer for pretty much all of my life and generally keep up with the latest gaming trends. I currently own a Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a Nintendo 64, a Gameboy Color, a Playstation 2, a Nintendo DS lite, a Wii, a Nintendo DSi, and a Playstation Portable. I plan to purchase a Playstation 3 at some point and maybe one day an XBOX 360 if Microsoft doesn’t come out with a new console by then.
I’m partial to Super Mario games and party games but I also love adventure games and RPGs, which is displayed through my love of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I’m always open to suggestions for other games (though I don’t particularly like FPS and sports games, sorry) so if you have any suggestions for me, please pass them on!
I love anime and manga though I haven’t actually watched or read anything that’s been released in the past several years. I stopped watching anime for a while because there just wasn’t anything that I found interesting until the past couple years and I read manga on and off when I find something interesting and I just forget about it or get bored. My favorite anime/manga is Sailor Moon and other series that I love are Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, Magic Knight Rayearth, Ranma 1/2, Utena, Versailles no Bara, etc. Yes, my love for otome games does stem from my love for shoujo anime/manga.
I’m an avid fan of Disney, especially in recent years, so I go to Disneyland as often as I can. Not surprisingly I particularly love the Disney Princesses. I also really like Takarazuka but I haven’t been able to really get into it as all my other hobbies/interests from Japan drain my wallet and time as it is.
I guess that’s enough rambling about me. If there’s anything else you’d like to know about me or just want to chat, feel free to contact me.☆
